
Awareness camp organized on road safety campaign at Ravmapa Gondpur Bulla
Una, January 24- As part of the road safety campaign being run in Una district, the Regional Transport Department Una organized an awareness camp at Government Senior Secondary School Gondpur Bulla on Friday. The camp was chaired by RTO Una Ashok Kumar.

In the camp, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Ashok Dhiman called upon the school children to ensure compliance of road safety rules. He said that violation of road safety rules, driving at excessive speed and careless overtaking are the causes of many accidents. To improve this, we all have to understand our responsibility.
He taught the children to stay away from intoxication and drive with full caution. He also appealed to help the people injured in road accidents. While making the children aware, he informed that a scheme called Good Smartians has been started with the aim of helping the people injured in road accidents. In this, people who try to save the life of a road accident victim by taking him to the hospital in the golden hour within the first hour after the accident are given a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 5000.
The aim of this scheme of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is to encourage people to help the injured in road accidents and reduce the number of deaths in accidents. During this, the RTO also administered an oath to the school children to ensure compliance with road safety rules.
In the camp, school children participated enthusiastically in speech competitions, poster making and quiz competitions on road safety rules. The participants who topped the competitions were also awarded.
On this occasion, the entire school staff including the school principal Ramji Modgil was present.
