DPO Narendra Kumar said that National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on 24 January in India. The purpose of celebrating National Girl Child Day is to make girls and women aware of their rights. He said that our country is progressing very fast. At present, the daughters of the country have a stake in almost every field, but there are still many families who do not want to give birth to daughters. The biggest purpose behind celebrating Girl Child Day in the country is to provide assistance and different types of opportunities to girls. The importance of National Girl Child Day is very high, it is to make girls aware about education, health and employment. Apart from this, the purpose is also to make all people aware about the discrimination against girls.
In the programme, drama, slogan writing and speech competitions related to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign were organised and winners were also awarded.
On this occasion, Child Development Project Officer Shiv Singh Verma, Principal of Shiksha Bharti B.Ed. College Samurkalan Hansraj, entire college staff and Isha Chaudhary, Rekha Rani, Shruti Sharma, Naveen Thakur and Rohit Kumar from District Una working under Mission Shakti were present.
