Patiala, January 11- Additional District Magistrate Patiala Isha Singal, exercising powers vested under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023, has issued orders for a complete ban on the sale, purchase and use of door (China Door) made of synthetic/plastic/harmful material in Patiala district and stocking of China Door in shops/stores/houses etc. These orders will remain in force till July 9, 2025.
The orders issued said that a large number of kites are flown in Patiala district and China Door is used for these kites, which is made of synthetic plastic and is very strong, due to which there are incidents of cutting of hands and fingers of kite flyers, cutting of neck and ears of bicycle and scooter/motorcycle riders and in such a situation there is a fear of accidents.
Apart from this, the environment also gets polluted due to the death of birds trapped in China Door and hanging on trees due to foul smell. This synthetic/plastic door (China wire) used for kite flying proves fatal for human life and birds. Keeping these facts in mind, Additional District Magistrate Patiala has issued orders to completely ban the sale, storage and use of synthetic/plastic door (China door).
