Garhshankar- An ‘MoU’ has been signed between Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplant Society Hoshiarpur, an organization running the eye donation campaign, and Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar, with the aim of bringing awareness about eye donation and making the eye donation campaign a success.
Signing the MoU during a function organized by the NSS unit of the college in this regard, Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplant Society Chairman JB Bahl and Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira termed the ‘MoU’ as historic and said that the eye donation campaign will be made successful among the people and students of the area.
On this occasion, Chairman JB Bahl shed light on the eye donation campaign. Dr. Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the Society’s Body Donation Committee, shed light on the eye donation process.
On this occasion, College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira motivated the students to be a part of the eye donation campaign and himself filled the pledge of eye donation, taking inspiration from which Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur, around 50 NNS volunteers and students filled the pledge of eye donation after death, to whom certificates were distributed by the society.
During the function, Dr. Lakhwinder Billon, Harikrishna Gangar, Jasvir Kanwar, Retd. Prof. Daljit Singh, Prof. Rajiv Sharma, Krishan Gopal, NSS Program Officer of the college Dr. Arvinder Singh Arora, Dr. Arvinder Kaur, Dr. Sangha Gurbaksh Kaur, Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur, NSS volunteers and students were present.
