Garhshankar September 15 (Balveer Choupada) An awareness lecture on 'Stem Cell Registry' was organized by Arjun Veer Foundation in collaboration with the life science department of the college at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar. On this occasion, Naresh Gupta, convenor of the foundation, gave information about stem cells in a very simple manner and inspired the students and staff to help save the lives of others by being a part of this campaign. On this occasion, Madam Simmi Singh, founder of the foundation, while narrating the story of her 24-year-old son's death from blood cancer, said that my son died because he did not get a stem cell donor. He said that the foundation was formed only after the death of his son so that no one dies due to lack of stem cell donor. Madam Simmi Singh said that the 'bone marrow' found in our bones can work as a sanjeevani boti for someone. It can also cure deadly diseases like blood cancer, sickle cell, anemias and leukemias if detected in time. He encouraged the students to be a part of this campaign as much as possible and the students also got the stem cell registry done as per their wish. Acting Principal Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur welcomed all the members of Arjun Veer Foundation by giving them a plant on their arrival at the college. He appreciated the campaign being conducted by the foundation regarding stem cells and encouraged the students and staff to get guidance from it.
