Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 18: District Magistrate Mrs. Komal Mittal, exercising the powers conferred under Chapter 11 (Subsection 163) of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023 (46 of 2023), has issued an order that when any person living in the jurisdiction of Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Gram Panchayats situated within the limits of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar keeps a tenant/servant/paying guest in his house.
So he will ensure to give his full details to the nearest police station within a week. This order will also apply to those who have not yet given the details of already kept tenants, servants and paying guests to the police.
It has been said in these prohibitory orders that many people from other states and outside districts come to the district for job/work etc. Apart from this, students/learners who have come from other states to study in other educational institutions/organisations, people associated with various professions/businesses as paying guests and employees providing services in call centres are also living on rent.
Many of these people are from drug-addict, anti-social and criminal background and create ruckus in rented premises and public places. Landlords do not register the information of these tenants with the police, due to which there is a fear of deteriorating law and order. These orders will remain in force from 11 June 2025 to 10 August 2025.
