Patiala, December 4-  On the second day of the 10th Norah Richard Theatre Festival being organized by Sarthak Rangmanch and Social Welfare Society, Patiala in collaboration with the Youth Welfare Department and Punjab Music Academy Chandigarh, Sarthak Rangmanch performed 'Kar Lau Ghio Nu Bhanda', a Punjabi adaptation of Jayavardhan's Hindi play 'Hai Handsome'. The Punjabi adaptation and direction of this play was done by Dr. Lakha Lahiri.
This play was a 'situational comedy' in which serious issues of the present era were presented in a light-hearted manner. The new generation, in their desire to make a career, forgets human values and neglects their parents and throws themselves into the fire of loneliness, the submissive and slave-like husband's grumbling in front of his modern wife, the servant's awareness of his rights and showing his attitude, and the elderly's search for a partner to end their loneliness, while making the audience laugh, also forced them to think.
Every artist in the play did full justice to their character. Karman Sidhu, Tapur Sharma, Vishal Sonwal, Manpreet Singh, Bahar Grover and Kultaran Gill impressed the audience with their acting. Uttam Daral played the important role of lighting and Nancy played the music brilliantly.
On this occasion, Director of the Youth Welfare Department Dr. Virender Kaushik praised the play and said that the stage is a mirror of society which tells us about our good and bad and becomes our guide. R. T. O. Patiala Shri Naman Markan, who arrived as the chief guest, praised all the artists of the play after the play.
Festival Director Dr. Inderjit Goldy shed light on Norah Richards' contribution to Punjabi theatre and thanked the guests and audience for coming.
During the morning face-to-face session, film artist Kartar Cheema shared his memories of his theatre and film journey with the audience and answered the questions of the audience. Cheema released the book 'Panj Daryawan Di Sherni Maharani Jind Kaur', published by Twenty One Century Publication and written by Sukhdayal Singh.
