Mohali- Shiromani Akali Dal Halqa Mohali Chief Sewadar Parvinder Singh Suhana has appreciated the inauguration of Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh's statue at Mohali International Airport by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann today, but at the same time he has also said that the purpose of this international airport is not fulfilled by inaugurating the statue of Shaheed Azam. He said that the true tribute to Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh would be to start international flights from this airport.
He said that for this international airport built on the land of Punjab, the land of the farmers of Mohali constituency was acquired and the people of Punjab were very keen that now international flights would start from here and they would not have to travel a long distance to Delhi for which both extra money and time are wasted.
He said that the central government deliberately did not allow international flights to start from here. He said that the Chief Minister should put pressure on the central government to start flights to Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe from here so that the entire region of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir can get the benefit of this.
