Patiala, November 23: Special camps were organized by booth level officers at polling stations in eight assembly constituencies of Patiala district under the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, which was benefited by a large number of voters.

It is noteworthy that as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the work of correcting the photo electoral rolls based on the eligibility date of 1 January 2025 has started and this work is to be done by November 28. Giving information about the booth level camps, Dr. Preeti Yadav said that these camps will be organized on November 24 (Sunday) from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
He said that any eligible person whose age completes 18 years on January 1, 2025 and his name is not included in the voter list of any constituency in India. Then he can register as a voter by filling Form No. 6 to get his name included in the voter list.
Apart from this, if a person wants to get registered as an NRI voter, then he can fill Form No. 6-A; if a person has died, then Form No. 7 to get his vote deducted; for correction of details entered in the voter list or voter identity card and for shifting from one polling area to another and getting his name registered in the new polling area; and for getting his duplicate voter identity card made, Form No. 8 can be filled and submitted to the Booth Level Officer of the concerned polling station, concerned Electoral / Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or District Election Office.
Apart from the above, the Election Commission of India is also specifically working on linking the voter card with the Aadhaar card to fulfill the objective of preparing clean and error-free voter lists.
