The Deputy Commissioner, who reviews the purchase and lifting of paddy in the markets on a daily basis, told a meeting with the concerned officials today that there has been a rapid increase in the lifting of the paddy crop being purchased in the mandis of the district. According to the target, now more than 50 thousand metric tons of paddy is being collected. He has again given strict instructions to the district managers of all procurement agencies in this regard.
Dr. Preeti Yadav said that their goal is to speed up the lifting in the next one-two days and make the mandis empty. He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has ensured that no farmer faces any difficulty in selling his produce.
He said that more than 3 lakh 35 thousand metric tons have been paid till this evening. The total arrival is about 7 lakh metric tonnes, out of which 6.60 lakh metric tonnes have been procured so far. It has been 100 percent paid.
