Mandi Gobindgarh, September 28 - School of Hotel Management and Tourism of Desh Bhagat University celebrated 'World Tourism Week' as a series of two-day events. Mehndi art, slogan writing and poster making competitions were organized on the occasion of 'World Tourism Day'. All the students participated with great enthusiasm. Students created posters depicting henna designs and tourism.
 The theme of the day was 'Tourism and Peace'. On this occasion, a “Bollywood Theme Lunch” was prepared and served by the student team Amritpal, Harpreet, Mandeep, Charanjit, Seema, Jaspreet, Yashpreet and Gurdas. On this occasion, Chancellor of DBU Dr. Zora Singh was the chief guest, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor and President of the Republic of Liberland Wit Jedlica joined as special guests. Kasak was declared the winner in the mehndi competition and Kajal was declared the winner in the poster making competition while Amandeep Kaur and Manpreet Kaur were declared the runners up in the poster making competition.
 In slogan writing, Charanpreet Kaur was declared the winner and Tanmay as the runner up. Addressing the students on this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh said, “Tourism and hospitality industry is the fastest growing industry today. This will create many employment opportunities for the students going forward. Dr. Tajinder Kaur said, "Tourism connects people from all over the world". Dr. Aman Sharma addressed the students before the competitions and encouraged them to participate in such competitions.
