The district administration reacted to the entire mock drill by treating it as a real incident.
Along with activating various government agencies related to disaster management, social participation was also ensured in relief and rescue operations. During this period, relief and rescue operations were carried out at 5 identified sites in the district by considering symbolic losses due to floods, landslides, industrial disasters and other natural disasters. Trained disaster friends also participated in this with full enthusiasm.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that coordination and immediate response were practiced by involving disaster friends in the mock drill. He said that immediately after the disaster, local citizens can handle the situation by responding first. They have better knowledge of the area, which is very helpful in search and rescue operations. From this point of view, disaster friends have been trained in the district.
