Meanwhile, an expert committee appointed by the state government to ascertain the cause of the blast and establish the sequence of events is expected to visit the site on Thursday. A senior district official said that some of the injured, who are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, are likely to be discharged today. SP Pankaj told news agency PTI, “The death toll is only 38, nine people are missing. But perhaps today or tomorrow when we get the reports of bones and other things from the FSL (Forensic Science Lab), the number will be known.” He said that 90 percent of the debris removal work has been completed and there is no hope of finding more bodies. However, he said that some human organs may be found and whenever they are found, they will be sent for examination. Earlier, Sigachi has announced a compensation of Rs one crore each to the families of the deceased.
