Centre not serious about solving Punjab and farmers' issues: Satyapal Malik

Patiala, March 1- Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya Satyapal Malik has said that the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no concern for Punjab and Punjab farmers and neither is Narendra Modi interested in solving the issues of farmers.

He met retired IG Ranbir Singh Khatra and Advocate Satbir Singh Khatra on behalf of Kirti Kisan Front and Patiala Welfare Society at a palace on Bhadson Road, a short distance from here today, in which he (Satyapal Malik) was specially honored for raising the slogan 'Yes' for farmers. On this occasion, Satpal Malik, while addressing a huge gathering of farmers, said that the Prime Minister is concerned about Adani-Ambani but he is not serious about solving the problems of farmers.
He said that the government does not bear any expense on giving MSP to the farmers. There are moves to destroy the farmers under a deep conspiracy, for which all our organizations need to fight unitedly, for which they are with the farmers wholeheartedly. He said that it is because of the unity and solidarity of the farmers that the Modi government has withdrawn the black laws by apologizing.
At this time, retired IG Ranbir Singh Khatra said in his address that Punjabis can never forget Governor Satpal Malik's slogan of yes in favor of the farmers of Punjab. He said that whoever talks about the rights and interests of Punjab will be given the highest respect. Agriculture expert Dr. Pyare Lal Garg said that Punjab has more fertile land than the entire country, on which corporate houses have their eyes, to save which we all need to work together. He said that the plans of industrialists to eliminate farmers and make them laborers will never be allowed to succeed.
