
Center released the first installment of 20.25 crores for Beet Kshetra Irrigation Scheme-2.
Una, July 12- Another important achievement has been achieved towards the expansion of irrigation facilities in Haroli assembly constituency. The Central Government has released the first installment of Rs 20.25 crore for Beet Kshetra Irrigation Scheme-2. This scheme is the result of the visionary and continuous efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, which was approved by the Ministry of Water Power, Government of India in March 2025. The total cost of the scheme is Rs 75 crore, out of which 90 percent amount will be borne by the Central Government and 10 percent by the State Government.

This scheme is the result of the visionary and continuous efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, which was approved by the Ministry of Water Power, Government of India in March 2025. The total cost of the scheme is Rs 75 crore, out of which 90 percent amount will be borne by the Central Government and 10 percent by the State Government.
Under this scheme, about 50 thousand kanal agricultural land of more than 22 villages of Beet, Palakwah, Karmapur area will get better irrigation facilities. This is expected to significantly increase the agricultural productivity of the area.
Let us tell you, this scheme is the result of the commitment of the Deputy Chief Minister to provide water to every farm and has been made possible by his visionary and targeted efforts. For the approval of this scheme, he held meetings with the Union Jal Shakti Minister in several phases and presented the side of Himachal Pradesh in an impressive manner. After completing all the technical procedures including the approval of DPR, now its first installment has been released. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Central Government and appreciated the efforts of the State Government and the officials of the Jal Shakti Department.
Mr. Agnihotri said that earlier in the first phase of Beet Kshetra Lift Irrigation Scheme, irrigation facility was provided to 29 thousand Kanal land of 9 villages at a cost of Rs 42 crore. He said that Beet area was once facing severe water crisis, but now the production of cash crops has increased here and farmers have become active again in agricultural work. In the areas where tube wells have not reached, water will be made available through the new scheme.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that our aim is to provide water to every field and relief to every farmer. We are moving forward in a planned manner in this direction and the results are visible on the ground.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that work is being done on water supply and irrigation projects in Haroli area at a total cost of Rs 325 crore. Out of these, schemes worth Rs 66 crore have been completed in Beet area. Tanks with a water storage capacity of 50 lakh liters have been prepared in Polian and 25 lakh liters in Dulahad. Pipeline expansion work is also nearing completion. Adequate arrangements have been made for drinking water supply for the Bulk Drug Park.
Apart from this, work is being done at a cost of Rs 12 crore for recharging old ponds and tanks, Rs 105 crore on drinking water schemes and Rs 130 crore on irrigation projects. Rs 13 crore is also being spent on embankment of drains in the area.
