Power Corporation Chairman directs immediate action in the matter of pensioners' arrears: Pensioners Welfare Federation (Pehlwan).

The delegation brought to the notice of the Chairman that the arrears from 01-01-2016 to 30-06-2021 are not being prepared by the field offices as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. Rather, they are being done haphazardly and no attention is being paid to the instructions issued by the Punjab Government/Power Corporation and the pensioners are being harassed.
The Chairman listened to the delegation very carefully and assured the delegation that the schedule issued by the Power Corporation regarding the arrears will be implemented 100 percent accordingly. The Chairman immediately issued instructions to the Director Finance to strictly ask the field offices to prepare and pay the arrears. If any office in the field does not follow these instructions, then strict action should be taken against them.
Director Finance Mr. BB Beri Sahib instructed the Chief Accounts Officer over the telephone to tell all the DDOs of Punjab to prepare the arrears of pensioners above 85 years, 75 to 85 years and below 75 years of age and deposit them in the arrears account. The arrears account will remain open at the head office level till 30-05-2025. Director Finance told the delegation that if there is still any problem, they can meet me whenever they want.
Director Finance assured to consider the matter of arrears of employees who retired after 01-01-2016. The delegation included BS Sekhon, General Secretary Balwinder Singh Pasiana, Shivdev Singh, Surjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh Lang, Gagan etc.
