Ratia, 6th August:- World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm and awareness at Shaheed Udham Singh College of Nursing, Barota, Ratia, Fatehabad. The objective of this program was to spread awareness in the society about the importance of breastfeeding for the health of mother and child.
On this occasion, Director Dr. Gurmeet Kaur Nadda, Principal Shashikalavati Arunachalam, all faculty members and other teaching staff were present. Students of various classes participated enthusiastically and presented attractive charts and posters on the importance of breastfeeding.
Through their charts and presentations, the students spread awareness about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months after birth, correct breastfeeding technique, maternal nutrition and the role of breastfeeding in the proper development of the infant. They also gave the message of promoting breastfeeding in society.
Director Dr. Nadda, the Principal and all the teachers appreciated the excellent efforts of the students and motivated them for active participation in health awareness programs in the future as well. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and everyone resolved to take the importance of breastfeeding to every person for building a healthy society.
