Patiala:- Every day, hundreds of people die and properties are destroyed due to fires, gas leaks, electric short circuits, because people do not get training and practice on fire safety, the importance and use of cylinders.
Due to gases, smoke, electric current, deaths are happening due to the cessation of breathing, heart, brain functions of the victims. Because people do not get training and practice on first aid, CPR, recovery position, ventilator artificial respiration.
Only through training, practice and mock drills for safety, rescue, help, lives and properties can be saved in the future. For which purpose, training is being given to students, teachers and employees by Shri Kaka Ram Verma, Retired Training Supervisor, Red Cross Society in the name of humanity.
These views were expressed by Shri Jatinder Pal Singh, Former ADFO, Punjab Fire and Emergency Services and Bharat Inder Singh, JP Fire Constable, Patiala while giving information about fire safety, use of cylinders, types of fires, fire extinguishing methods at the ongoing disaster management training camp at Government Nursing College Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, under the leadership of Dr. Balwinder Kaur Principal.
On this occasion, Company Commanders of Punjab Home Guard Civil Defense Mohanjit Singh and Karamjit Singh Bhinder gave information about the importance of civil defense and the use of things found on the spot to get police, fire brigade, administration and ambulance services during emergencies, and to rescue and transport the victims.
Mr. Kaka Ram Verma said that 112 nursing students are being trained during the three-day training camp. He said that it is a matter of great sorrow that these newly admitted students from the districts of Punjab have never been trained by their schools on disaster management, first aid, CPR, fire safety, use of cylinders.
While natural and man-made disasters are destroying the people and properties of the country and the world. Principal Dr. Balwinder Kaur expressed her gratitude and said that Government Nursing College, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala has become the first college in Punjab. Every student and teacher of which has been given basic information on disaster management, civil defense, first aid, CPR, fire safety, use of cylinders, rescue transport of victims, CPR, recovery position, ventilator artificial respiration as per the orders of the Punjab and Central governments.
