Kharar, 6 August- BJP District Business Cell President Subhash Aggarwal said that the decision of Punjab and Haryana High Court has fully exposed the negative and anti-government employee thinking of the 'AAP' Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann towards employees and pensioners. The court rejected every argument given by the Government for withholding arrears of Dearness Allowance (DA).
Aggarwal said that even after defeat in court Punjab Government is trying to mislead employees by repeating same old arguments which High Court has already rejected in its detailed judgement. He said that Government should respect court's decision, not mislead employees.
He said that High Court has clarified that Government cannot implement recommendations of Pay Commission as per its convenience. If Government has approved revised pay scales then it cannot back out from giving DA accordingly. Court also said that basic pay and dearness allowance are for different purposes and by comparing both, legal rights of employees cannot be denied.
The argument of Government citing financial crisis was also rejected by the court saying that dues of employees and pensioners cannot be stopped in name of economic difficulties. Court also commented that advertisements and other unproductive expenses cannot be made a valid reason for stopping dues of employees
He said that this Government has failed on every front, Government is only wasting people's money on publicity, today this Government has not even been able to give people electricity, water and good roads.
