Hoshiarpur: In a press note issued by former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood, the Modi government has taken an unprecedented, historic step by implementing four labor laws that had been pending for the past five to six years. The implementation of these laws will guarantee job and salary security for workers and employees, as well as health protection. Women will benefit the most, receiving equal pay and respect for equal work.
Job letters have also been made mandatory for youth, and there is a provision for gratuity for fixed-term employees after one year of work. He said that with the implementation of these laws, all workers will now receive their minimum wage grants on time and will receive double pay for overtime work. Gig work has also been brought under the ambit of PF, ESI, insurance, and social security, and 400 million workers in the country have been brought under the ambit of social security.
A provision for free health checkups once a year for employees over the age of 40 has been made, and 100% health security has been guaranteed in hazardous industries. All these provisions also ensure justice in accordance with international standards. He said that women will receive 26 weeks of paid leave and crèche benefits under maternity leave.
Flexible work from home will also be available, and a medical bonus of ?3,500 has also been established. By including mother-in-law and father-in-law in the definition of a woman's family, more family members will be brought under the ambit of social security.
