Chandigarh, February 4:- Haryana Minister for Cooperation, Jails, Elections, Heritage and Tourism Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the meaning of politics in the last 11 years and has given the idea of ??bringing one crore youth into politics, so that our capable youth can play their important role in making the country strong and fulfilling the vision of a developed India by the year 2047.
He said that the Screen Time to Sports Time campaign launched by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) from Panjab University, Chandigarh under the nationwide Screen Time to Activity Time campaign will become a strong source of bringing positive change not only in Chandigarh but also among the youth of Haryana and Punjab.
While inaugurating the PU Olympics Games organized by ABVP at Panjab University, Chandigarh on Wednesday, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma while interacting with the youth said that the new direction and identity that sports in India has got is due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has considered sports not just a means of entertainment but also an important source of nation building.
The encouragement given to the Fit India Movement, Khelo India, Olympic and Paralympic players under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is proof that the Central Government is keeping sports at the centre of the policy of a developed India. The Prime Minister himself interacts with the players and boosts their morale.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, while praising ABVP's Screen Time to Sports Time campaign, said that ABVP's decades-long efforts, hard work and responsibility as a guardian of the dreams of crores of youth with the spirit of empowered youth, empowered nation are not hidden from anyone. ABVP is not just an organization, it is a youth movement. He said that the week-long PU Olympics is not just a festival of fields, but it is a festival of the character, discipline and leadership ability of young India. Today, mobile is in our pockets, but the playing field is getting out of our lives. When mobile becomes our master, then understand that the danger has begun. Gadgets are making our lifestyle convenient as well as posing a serious challenge. The aim of PU Olympics is to motivate the youth from screen time to sports time, which is the most meaningful and visionary message of the present time.
Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that the playground is the place where the body becomes strong, the mind remains balanced and the personality develops. The screen shows us the world, but the playground gives us the opportunity to identify ourselves. Today, the need of the hour is that our youth should move away from the mobile screen and feel the soil of the playground, respect the drops of sweat and learn to consider every victory as a part of life.
Giving the example of Haryana, he said that today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, Haryana is becoming a state of sportsmen. Today, not only the country, but the whole world knows Haryana as a sports powerhouse. Since 2014, the BJP government has given Rs 683 crore as cash awards to 16,418 players, while 231 players have been provided government jobs according to their education.
He said that the policy of the Haryana government under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini is to give respect, security and a bright future to the players.
