Chandigarh, January 28:- Haryana Forest and Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh has appealed to the dhaba operators of GT Road, especially Murthal Road, to strictly follow the guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the National Green Tribunal (NGT). He said that it is necessary to set up STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and CTP (Common Treatment Plant) in all dhabas to ensure water conservation and reuse.
Mr. Rao Narbir Singh was chairing a meeting called by MLA Mr. Devendra Kadian with the dhaba owners of Murthal today. In the meeting, he clarified that those dhaba operators who are running dhabas without CLU (Change of Land Use), will have to complete all the necessary documents related to taxes and other statutory fees related to the Municipal Corporation. At the same time, those dhabas who have CLU approval will also have to strictly follow all the rules of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, otherwise action and fine will be imposed as per the rules.
The Environment Minister said that the aim of the government is not to harm any business, but to ensure environmental protection, protection of water resources and orderly operation under the law. He directed the Secretary of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, Mr. Yogesh Kumar, to take necessary steps towards a comprehensive solution by discussing this issue with the Chairman of the Board at the earliest.
During the meeting, the Minister was also informed that when a closure order is issued against a dhaba during inspection by the NGT and other concerned agencies, the fine is calculated based on the time from the date of construction of the dhaba to the date of inspection. On this, the Minister said that all the operators should follow the rules in time so that any kind of punitive action can be avoided.
He appealed to the dhaba operators to adopt environment-friendly measures and cooperate with the government and administration so that the Murthal area can be made clean, safe and environment-friendly.
