Chandigarh, January 28:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the authorities should take steps towards setting up labs for certification of organic crop produce so that farmers can get good price for their produce after certification.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the fourth meeting of Haryana Farmers Welfare Authorities today. On this occasion, Environment and Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Cooperation Minister Mr. Arvind Sharma, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Mrs. Shruti Chaudhary, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Mr. Rajesh Nagar and OSD to the Chief Minister Mr. Virendra Barkhalsa were also present.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officers to adopt micro irrigation system by managing water in the said smart agriculture zone. He also directed the officers to prepare high quality seeds of crops.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to prepare a calendar of farmer seminars, workshops, training programs and awareness campaigns up to the block level for dissemination of knowledge and policy aspects among the farmers. He said that during these campaigns, the farmers should be made aware of the harm caused by the use of chemical medicines and fertilizers and the benefits of natural farming.
Shri Naib Singh Saini discussed in detail the issues like pilot cooperative farming clusters by Haryana Farmers Welfare Authorities, use of water drainage technology, solarization of feeders under PM Kusum Yojana, crop diversification, joint dairy project, promotion of shrimp farming, goat and sheep farming, promotion of Kharif crops oilseeds and pulses etc. He directed the officials to make maximum schemes women-centric to empower women in the state.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department Mr. Anurag Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Department Mr. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Mr. D Suresh, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department Mr. Vijay Singh Dahiya, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Saket Kumar, Director General, Industries and Commerce Department Mr. Yash Garg, Director General, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik and other senior officers.
