Santokhgarh/Una, June 23 (Rajveer Chopra): After a long wait, new leadership was selected for the posts of President and Vice-President of the Santokhgarh Municipal Council during elections held on Tuesday. Anjana Chabba was declared elected as President, and Advocate Sandeep Kumar as Vice-President.
An atmosphere of great enthusiasm prevailed at the Municipal Council premises during the election process. As soon as the results were announced, supporters and well-wishers congratulated the newly elected President and Vice-President by garlanding them and celebrated by distributing sweets.
It is noteworthy that despite earlier attempts to reach a consensus on these posts, no agreement had been reached, leading to the postponement of the election process until Tuesday. The voting held on Tuesday finally resulted in the Municipal Council securing new leadership.
Expressing gratitude to all councilors and residents, newly elected President Anjana Chabba stated that she would prioritize the town's development, sanitation, drinking water supply, road improvements, and public amenities. Meanwhile, Vice-President Advocate Sandeep Kumar said that, working together with the entire Municipal Council team, they would strive to live up to the public's expectations.
Residents have expressed hope that the new leadership will accelerate development work, ensure transparent administration, and prioritize the resolution of public interest issues. Various social, religious, and business organizations in the area have extended their best wishes to both newly elected office-bearers.
With the selection of the new leadership for the Santokhgarh Municipal Council, there is now renewed hope that the town's development activities will gain fresh momentum.
