Hoshiarpur: “The people of the country look to political parties—by electing them to form a government—with the hope of improving their standard of living. However, after coming to power and implementing a public welfare scheme, every party begins to portray these initiatives as acts of benevolence towards the public through various channels. This is a highly misguided tendency.” These sentiments were expressed by Nirmal Dost (Raikot), Senior Vice President of Mission New India’s Punjab wing, in a statement issued to the press.
Nirmal Dost asserted that the people have every right to demand their entitlements from the government, as this is a fundamental right of the citizenry. He further added that, in today's times, capitalists are growing wealthier by the day, while the poor are becoming increasingly impoverished. This constitutes a matter of grave concern. Governments must implement necessary long-term strategies to address and bridge the widening economic disparity within society.
