Garhshankar- The Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplant Society organized a function in Garhshankar under the chairmanship of J.B. Behl. During the event, the eye bandage of 4-year-old Baby Safra was opened after her corneal transplant surgery. The bandage was removed by Dr. Vijaypal Jagpal and his wife Rajinder Kaur Jagpal, residents of England.
On this occasion, Dr. Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the Body Donation Committee; Ashwani Dutta, retired D.E.O.; J.B. Behl, Chairman; Mrs. Balwinder Kaur; Professor Daljit Singh; Madan Lal Mahajan; Krishna Kumar, retired bank manager; and members of the Garhshankar unit were present.

Her parents had been visiting PGI and other hospitals for the past three years seeking treatment, but were turned away everywhere.
Finally, they contacted the Rotary Eye Bank, which arranged the girl’s surgery at Arora Eye Hospital in Jalandhar at its own expense. The entire cost of the surgery was donated to the organization by Dr. Vijaypal Jagpal, who resides in England.
On this occasion, Dr. Tarsem Singh expressed his gratitude to everyone present.
