Hoshiarpur- To keep the memory of your loved ones fresh, organizing blood donation camps voluntarily on the occasion of their anniversary is a very good trend, which pays respect to their memory in a beautiful way. This was expressed by Dr. Ajay Bagga, Patron of the Punjab Chapter of the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immuno Hematology (ISBTI), and said that the trend of organizing blood donation camps in the memory of our departed loved ones is increasing day by day in Punjab.
Dr. Bagga said that on October 24, a blood donation camp dedicated to the memory of Chaudhary Ram Nath Ji was organized by his son Tarlochan Chechi at village Dangori Beit. 55 people donated blood in this camp, including late Chaudhary Ram Nath's son Tarlochan Chechi, his granddaughter Rohani Chaudhary and grandson Pushpa Chechi.
Similarly, last month, communist leader Darshan Singh Mattu organized a blood donation camp in Garhshankar in the memory of his late son Kaka Amandeep Singh Mattu and unidentified dead bodies, in which 73 people donated blood. On October 16, on the first death anniversary of late Balwinder Pal of Dara Sound, a blood donation camp was organized by his sons at Dera Baba Mangal Das Ji in Mahal Gehlan, which was inaugurated by the wife of late Balwinder Pal herself. 51 blood donors donated blood in this camp.
Similarly, a blood donation camp dedicated to the memory of Kaka Chirag Soni was organized by his brother Chahat Soni and the Soni family. More than 35 blood donors donated blood in this camp. Gurinder Singh Toor and Prof. JS Gidda, who have been playing a pioneering role in the blood donation movement in the land of Doaba for the last 40 years, welcomed the trend of organizing blood donation camps on the anniversaries of their loved ones and said that people should organize blood donation camps on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries as well.
Dr. Ajay Bagga, who has made a valuable contribution to the blood donation movement and has donated blood 103 times himself, said that on the arrival of the new year, those families will be honored in Hoshiarpur who organize blood donation camps on the anniversaries of their loved ones, on their birthdays and on their wedding anniversaries.
The purpose of honoring these families is to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation and to encourage other personalities to do the same. Dr. Bagga said that while blood donors help in keeping the dying light of patients admitted to hospitals alight due to blood shortage, they also strengthen mutual brotherhood and national unity in the country.
