Chandigarh, December 31:- Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that no tampering with the health of the people of the state will be tolerated. She said that in the case of high risk solvents and excipients, industrial-grades will have to strictly follow the rules in the sale and transport of their products. If any manufacturer violates, his license can be canceled and legal action can also be taken against him.
Lalit Kumar Goel, State Drugs Controller of Food and Drugs Administration Haryana, said that as per the guidelines of Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, the advisory has been issued keeping in mind the public health. He said that an important advisory has been issued with the aim of preventing misuse of industrial-grade high risk solvents and excipients and ensuring safety of public health. This advisory has been communicated to all pharmaceutical manufacturers, traders, importers and distributors of the state through the Haryana State Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association.
He said that this direction has been issued in compliance with the advisory issued by the Directorate General of Health Services, Enforcement Division, Government of India on 22nd December 2025. He said that the sale of industrial-grade high risk solvents without safety can pose a serious threat to public health and this affects the quality and safety of drug supply.
As per the advisory, it will be mandatory to clearly and legibly mark the containers of all high risk industrial solvents for their intended use. This warning will also be prominently displayed on the sales bill, delivery challan and all other transaction related documents.
He clarified that open sale of high risk solvents and excipients will remain completely prohibited. These products will also be sold only in original, sealed and tamper-proof containers which must have complete labeling and batch-traceability related information.
Mr. Goyal said that strict action will be taken against the concerned units for non-compliance of these instructions which may include cancellation of license or legal prosecution.
He said that the Haryana Government gives utmost priority to the protection of public health and such steps are being continuously taken to ensure quality, transparency and safety in the pharmaceutical sector. These instructions have been issued solely in the interest of public health and safety.
