Chandigarh, December 17 - Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that newborn sick children of poor families will not be deprived of medical facilities, the state government is trying to keep everyone in the state healthy, from children to the elderly. Today, a 28-bed neonatal ICU has been started in the pediatric department of PGIMS Rohtak. This will be of special benefit to the poor section.
The Health Minister said that it is often seen that children who are born outside PGIMS and need ICU due to some disease, then due to the lack of ICU here, the newborn children and their families had to face a lot of difficulties. For many years, there was a shortage of ICU for external newborn children in PGIMS Rohtak.
He said that patients come to PGIMS from all over the state, in such a situation, keeping in mind the interests of poor patients, the state government has prepared an ICU equipped with modern facilities. Today, this ICU has been handed over to serve critically ill newborns.
Aarti Singh Rao said that it is often seen in children who are born prematurely that they gain less weight and they also have difficulty in breathing, under which they need neonatal ICU care. He said that with the start of this new facility, now seriously ill children and newborns will not have to rely on private hospitals and other cities for treatment. Now, in this ward equipped with modern machines, children will get immediate and better treatment.
After inaugurating the 28-bed Neonatal ICU, PGIMS Rohtak Vice Chancellor Dr HK Agarwal informed that all the modern machines of the medical world have been provided in it, for which he specially thanks Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini and Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao.
Dr Agarwal said that every month about 200 newborns come to the Emergency Department who need ICU. With the start of this ICU, there will be a lot of improvement in the neonatal mortality rate in the state, which is a very big thing for the development of the nation.
