Hoshiarpur:- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Government College Hoshiarpur and Eye Donation Association Hoshiarpur under the college’s Community Engagement Internship Program. The main objective of this partnership is to connect students with eye donation, organ donation and social service related activities and to spread the message of public awareness through youth.
Under the MoU, college students will play an active role in eye donation awareness campaigns, community surveys, village level awareness programs, social media campaigns, seminars and other social service activities. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen the sense of social responsibility among the youth and connect them with the service of humanity.
MOU During the signing ceremony, Professor Bahadur Singh Sunet (Chairperson), President of Eye Donation Association Suresh Chand Kaptia, Principal of Government College Savita Gupta and Program Coordinator Madam Ranjana were specially present.
On this occasion, Prem Saini appreciated this initiative and said that continuous awareness of people towards eye donation and organ donation is the main need of the hour. He said that such initiatives further strengthen the spirit of humanity in the society.
Public Relations Secretary of Eye Donation Association Gurpal Singh said that this partnership will prove to be a strong platform to connect the youth with social service and through the active participation of students, the eye donation awareness campaign will reach new heights.
Gurpreet Singh, Onkar Singh Dhami, Tajinder Kaur, Santosh Saini, Lakhwinder Kaur Dimpy and Kum Kum Sood were also present during the event.
The speakers expressed confidence that this partnership would prove to be an important step towards increasing public awareness about eye and organ donation as well as fostering a sense of social responsibility among the youth.
