Karnal, June 2: In view of the preparations for the 12th International Yoga Day 2026, as per the orders of the Haryana Yoga Commission, Panchkula, under the instructions of the District Ayurvedic Officer, Karnal, and with the guidance of the Sub-Divisional Officer, a Yoga Competition Day was celebrated today at the Block Development and Panchayat Officer’s auditorium in Indri. 
Ayurvedic medical officers, members of Patanjali Yogpeeth, AYUSH yoga assistants, AYUSH yoga instructors, and 31 practitioners from Government School Chand Samand and Patanjali Yogshala participated in this program. In this competition, participants demonstrated 5 essential yoga asanas and 2 optional asanas.
On this occasion, Block In-charge Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that through International Yoga Day, the wish is for peace and prosperity to prevail across the world and for everyone to connect with yoga. He added that we should practice yoga every day with the objective that everyone remains disease-free and all sick individuals become healthy. The chief guest, Shri Guru Malak Singh, Block Panchayat Officer, Indri, honored the winners with medals and certificates.
 In the 10-18 male category, Chakshit, Yuvraj, and Yashveer secured first, second, and third places respectively. In the 10-18 female category, Maya, Khanak, and Gurbani secured first, second, and third places respectively. In the 18-55 male category, Avinash, Anuj, and Satish stood in first, second, and third places. In the 18-55 female category, Supriya, Seema, and Dimple secured first, second, and third places. 
Dr. Seema, Dr. Sandeep, Dr. Kritika, Shri Rakesh, Anuj, Sangeeta (Pharmacist), Raman, Seema, Pankaj, Meenakshi (AYUSH Yoga Assistant), Shivani, Anju, Kusum, Nitin (AYUSH Yoga Instructor), and from the District Sports Department, Shri Paramjit and Smt. Barkha Chaudhary (Physical Education Teacher) were present on this occasion.
