Ratia, December 28: Lions Club Ratia Town organized a free eye surgery camp in memory of late Megh Raj Jindal, which was inaugurated by Manoj Jindal and his family by cutting the ribbon.
In the camp, Dr. Rahul Singla conducted eye examinations of 600 patients, out of which 250 needy eye patients were selected for surgery. These surgeries will be performed sequentially under the guidelines of the Health Department.
The chief guest of the camp, District Governor Lion Vishal Wadhera, said that eyes are a vital organ in a person's life, and life is incomplete without them. Cataracts are common with increasing age, but due to lack of funds, many people are suffering from blindness because they cannot afford the surgery. The club has done a commendable job by organizing this camp for such people.
LCI F District Coordinator and former District Governor Lion Hardeep Sarkaria, special guests Deputy District Governor Sanjay Gandhi, and Mahesh Bansal appreciated the club's noble work and said that the objective of these camps is not limited to cataracts but also helps in detecting many other serious problems. Such camps are an important medium for restoring eyesight and providing relief to the poor and underprivileged sections of society, where work is done with a spirit of service to humanity. They also appealed to save the younger generation from drug addiction.
Lion Satyaprakash Jain welcomed everyone, and Lion Lal expressed his gratitude. The camp began with a prayer by Dr. Ramesh Gupta. President Lion Kapish Gupta, Project Chairman Kuldeep Sharma, and Co-Project Officer Suresh Jindal welcomed the guests by presenting them with symbolic scarves. The stage was skillfully managed by Secretary Lion Shiv Soni. Regional Chairman Vijay Jindal appreciated the club's service activities and congratulated the club.
The club also organized a dental camp today, in which Dr. Ashish Kakkar examined the patients' teeth. On that occasion, members of the Jindal family, including Pramod Jindal, Rajesh Jindal, Dr. Himanshu Jain, and Kirti Jain, along with other family members, were present.
