Chandigarh, October 13 - Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that the recent visit to Japan with Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini was very successful from the investment point of view. During this, 10 MoUs were signed with several leading Japanese companies for an investment of more than Rs. 5,000 crore. This will usher in a new era in the fields of agriculture and environment in Haryana.
Rao Narbir Singh said that the biggest feature of Japan is its commitment and work culture - the companies here deliver what they promise at the ground level with full responsibility within the stipulated time. He said that this trend of Japanese investment in Haryana is not new.
In the year 1980, when he first became a minister, Maruti Industries Limited had established its first unit in Old Gurugram. Today, more than 500 Japanese companies are active in the state, which are playing an important role in the industrial progress of Haryana.
He said that Kubota Tractor Company will play an important role in the agricultural development of Haryana, while in the field of environment, cities will develop through three energies, electric vehicles, smart mobility, green building and sustainable infrastructure and the quality of life of citizens will improve.
He said that during the visit to Japan, the agreements signed with renowned companies like AISIN, Air Water, TASI, Nambu, Denso, Sojitsu, Nissin, Kawakin, Daikin and Toppan will open new opportunities for job creation for thousands of youth.
Rao Narbir said that Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini had announced to develop 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) in his budget speech for the year 2025-26, out of which five have already been approved. The government plans to develop one of these IMTs specifically in collaboration with Japanese companies.
For this, the Haryana government is revising its industrial policy, under which it plans to provide incentives for electric vehicles up to Rs 40 lakh. This policy will focus on expanding green energy along with benefiting the middle class.
He said that it is a matter of pride for him that being born in Gurugram, he has closely experienced the performance and investment culture of Japanese companies while being a minister for four terms since the 1980s.
