Hoshiarpur- Former cabinet minister and senior BJP leader Teekshan Sood has said in a press note that everyone will feel proud and happy when the Indian Army places a destroyed tank of an enemy country at a selected place in Hoshiarpur city.
According to the policy of the central government, as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the army is placing the destroyed tanks of the enemy at various important places of the country so that people feel proud of the army.
Teekshan Sood said that in 2016, the concerned officials had recommended sending a tank to Hoshiarpur as well and based on this recommendation, this tank recently reached here. He said that in this case, the local administration should have installed the tank according to the dignity of the army in collaboration with the officials of the District Sainik Board and members of the District Ex-Servicemen Association.
But instead, the local Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA, in a bid to gain political mileage, presented the issue in their own way, as if the tank had come about solely through their efforts. Teekshan Sood said that this step is very shameful and painful. The Zilla Sainik Board and other ex-servicemen associations cannot be ignored in the installation of the victory tank by the Army.
This is a direct violation of the rules and norms of the Army and politicizing such issues is a display of small-mindedness. Teekshan Sood said that he has written to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, the Defence Minister of India and the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Minister of the Punjab Government, demanding an inquiry into the matter and action against the negligent officials and other concerned people and also said that the tank should be reinstalled as per the Army norms.
