Chandigarh, October 23 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the Central and State Governments under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi have been continuously working for the rights of farmers. Whether it is about increasing the MSP of sugarcane of farmers or increasing the MSP of crops like paddy or wheat, every step is being taken to increase the income of farmers.
The Chief Minister was talking to the farmers at his official residence Sant Kabir Kutir today. Today, many farmers from many areas including Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar had come to thank the Chief Minister for increasing the MSP of sugarcane on the occasion of Diwali. Increasing the MSP without asking for it on the occasion of Diwali is the biggest gift for the farmers.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government has taken a step towards increasing the income of farmers by increasing the rate of early variety sugarcane from Rs. 400 per quintal to Rs. 415 per quintal and the rate of late variety from Rs. 393 per quintal to Rs. 408 per quintal. He said that the increase in the support price of sugarcane will not only honor the hard work and sacrifice of the farmers but will also strengthen their economic condition.
The Chief Minister said that this decision of the Haryana government is not only in favor of the farmers but will also give a new impetus to the agricultural economy of the state. He said that our government is committed to the welfare of the farmers.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini also said that Haryana is the first state in the country to purchase all 24 crops at MSP. Not only this, the farmers are paid for their crops within 48 hours. With the help of Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal, a crop purchase amount of Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been transferred to the accounts of 12 lakh farmers through DBT in the last 11 seasons.
He said that Haryana is the first state to adopt the Bhavantar Bharpay Yojana. Under this scheme, an incentive amount of Rs 135.37 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of 29,864 farmers, covering 21 fruits and vegetables.
The Chief Minister said that the compensation amount for crops damaged due to heavy rains or other calamities has been increased to Rs 15,000 per acre. Apart from this, claims worth Rs 9025.58 crore have been distributed to 33 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
The Chief Minister took feedback from the farmers on the procurement system of paddy and other crops in the mandis and said that if there is any shortage, it will also be removed. The farmers present on the occasion expressed their happiness with the state government's market arrangements and said that farmers are not facing any difficulty in selling their crops.
