Hoshiarpur:- Under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal and Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manpreet Singh Bains, a free medical camp was organized today at CHC Bhungrani. MLA Chabewal Dr. Inshak Kumar Ji specially attended the camp and reviewed the arrangements. He interacted with the patients who had come to the camp and said that the government is taking new steps every day regarding health services.
In this context, a free medical camp has been organized today on “World Health Day” at Village Bhungrani so that villagers can be made aware of good health and they can also be provided quality health services by experienced doctors.
He appealed to the villagers to fully avail government health services, get their health check-ups done from time to time, adopt a healthy lifestyle and contribute towards making their family and society healthy.
Senior Medical Officer Incharge CHC Harta Badla Dr. Manpreet Singh Bains, who was present on the occasion, informed that the Health Department team is organizing free health check-up camps for villagers from time to time, in which a team of doctors examines the patients and gives them necessary advice. Apart from this, awareness is also created about TB disease and its prevention, and vaccination.
Speaking on “World Health Day”, Dr. Bains said that a balanced and nutritious diet is very essential for good health. Green vegetables, fruits, pulses, milk and grains should be included in daily meals, and the use of junk food, oily and sweet items should be reduced. He said that exercising or walking for at least 30 minutes daily is very beneficial for keeping the body healthy.
He further said that along with physical health, we should also pay special attention to our mental health because mental and physical health are interconnected. Therefore, to avoid stress, yoga, meditation and taking proper sleep are very important.
On this occasion, LHV Sarabjit Kaur created awareness about HPV vaccine. She informed that HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is a virus that is the main cause of cervical cancer and can also cause anal and rectal cancer. To prevent this, the government is providing the facility of HPV vaccine for girls aged 14-15 years. 
She said that the rumours being spread on social media about HPV vaccine causing infertility or hormonal changes are baseless, while scientific research and statistics show that this vaccine is completely safe. Therefore, parents should definitely get this vaccine administered to their daughters.
