Hoshiarpur:- Tanda assembly constituency MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill has launched a scathing attack on former Lok Sabha members Vijay Sampla and Som Prakash, saying that during the tenure of both the leaders, the public got only waiting and empty promises in the name of development. Raja Gill said that former Lok Sabha member Vijay Sampla has recently exposed the failure of his own tenure by holding a press conference.
He said that they should look at their faces in the mirror before criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party. Raja Gill said that the amount of Rs 2 crore 45 lakh of former Lok Sabha member Vijay Sampla and Rs 7 crore 27 lakh 43 thousand 550 of Som Prakash remained in the MP Lead Fund for a long time and was returned due to non-use, which did not benefit the people.
Raja Gill said that the total grant of Rs 9 crore 72 lakh 43 thousand 550 of the grant returned by these two former members of Parliament without using their names has been re-issued with the strenuous efforts of the current Lok Sabha member Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal. He has brought this amount back to the constituency by putting in all his efforts, which will give a boost to the stalled development works in Tanda and Hoshiarpur constituencies.
The MLA said that “The money for development belongs to the public, not to anyone’s personal property. This money is for the welfare of the people and the development of the area, and not to be kept locked in someone’s treasury.” He asked in a sharp tone, “What were these Lok Sabha members doing during their tenure? Did they sleep for the entire five years?”
Raja Gill also said that former Member of Parliament Vijay Sampla, who is now holding a press conference and claiming that these are the grants released by him, should also tell the people why both of them did not spend this amount in the service of the people during his tenure and then during the five-year tenure of his own party colleague Som Prakash?
Raja Gill said that today when Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal has released this amount, some people are trying to take false credit for themselves. He said, “The public knows who did the work and who only made statements.” He also said that this is the MP who never reached the people.
The MLA said that now this entire amount will be spent in a transparent manner in the interest of the people. In the coming months, the works related to roads, schools, drinking water and other public amenities in the Tanda area will be completed at a rapid pace.
He said that the current Aam Aadmi Party government and its public representatives are completely serious about development and now the public will see real development, not just promises.
Raja Gill expressed confidence that with the support of Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, this amount will set a new direction for development and the entire Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency along with the Tanda area will become an example of progress in the coming times.
