Garhshankar- The Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and MLA of Garhshankar constituency interacted with villagers during a 'Lok Milni' program held at village Fatehpur Kalan, listened to their grievances, and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials for their prompt redressal. On this occasion, he made several important announcements for the all-round development of the village and laid the foundation stone for the renovation of the sports ground at a cost of Rs 22 lakh. Along with this, he also announced an additional grant of Rs 10 lakh to complete the remaining development works in the village.
The Deputy Speaker stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is giving top priority to the development of villages. Basic amenities are being strengthened in every village of the state so that people can get excellent facilities within their own villages. He said that the government's objective is not just to make announcements, but to implement every announcement on the ground level. He emphasized that the development of sports grounds is the need of the hour. When youth get good sports facilities, they are inspired towards sports and stay away from social evils like drugs. The sports ground, being prepared at a cost of Rs 22 lakh, will prove to be a boon for the village youth and provide them with a suitable environment to hone their sports talent.
The Deputy Speaker explained that the purpose of 'Lok Milnis' is to listen to the problems of the people at their doorsteps and resolve them immediately. He mentioned that the various demands and issues raised by the people were heard seriously, and the concerned departments have been instructed to take timely action. While announcing an additional grant of Rs 10 lakh for the remaining development works, he assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the village's development. He promised that more development works would be carried out as needed so that Fatehpur Kalan could become a model in terms of development.
The villagers warmly welcomed the Deputy Speaker and thanked him, stating that the efforts being made by the government for the village's development have instilled new confidence among the people. They added that the renovation of the sports ground and other development works would change the face of the village and provide better sports facilities to the youth. A large number of villagers, panchayat members, social workers, and Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers were present on this occasion.
