Chandigarh, October 30 - Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao directed the officials that quality construction materials should be used in all the construction works related to government health institutions in the state and the work should be completed within the stipulated time.
She directed to remove the current nodal officers and assign the responsibility of supervising all the civil surgeons in their place, saying that all the officers should stay updated about the under-construction works going on in their respective areas, negligence will not be tolerated.
The Health Minister had recently made a surprise inspection of the buildings under construction under the Health Department in some districts, during which when she asked the nodal officers about the construction works, they could not give any satisfactory answers. They were not up to date with their responsibilities. The Health Minister gave strict instructions to the officials who were found negligent in this matter, along with this, he now directed all the civil surgeons to be appointed as nodal officers for construction works and said that all the officials should be updated about the under-construction works. Atri Singh Rao said that a health institution is a place where a doctor examines the patients and treats them, therefore, no compromise will be made on the quality of the materials used in their construction. He directed the officials to complete the construction of all the institutions within the stipulated time.
