Karnal, July 29: Haryana's Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, presided over a meeting of the Grievance Redressal Committee at the Panchayat Bhawan auditorium on Wednesday. Out of 13 complaints presented, 7 were resolved on the spot, while the responsibility for re-investigating the remaining 6 was assigned to senior officials.
During the meeting, it was noted that the complaint filed by the residents of DRP Enclave Colony (Sector 36) regarding their colony is currently sub judice (under judicial consideration). Legal advice will be sought on this matter, and appropriate action will be taken only after the court's verdict. Regarding a complaint from Usha Rani, a resident of New DC Colony, concerning plot allotment by a cooperative society, the Minister directed that a fresh inquiry be conducted by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) once a response is received from the headquarters. A complaint from Surjeet Singh (a resident of village Gondar) regarding the Mining Department is already being investigated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC); therefore, this matter has been kept pending until the inquiry report is received.
Among the new complaints, regarding the assault on the son of Sanjay (a resident of village Gangtehri), the Minister instructed police officials to apprehend the remaining culprits quickly and ensure the complainant is satisfied with the action taken. Addressing a complaint by Sahil Singla (a resident of Kaithal) regarding unpaid wages by Giriraj Industries, Manjura, the Minister ordered an inquiry by a committee comprising the ADC, DSP, Labour Inspector, and a committee member. Regarding the issue where the Municipal Corporation proposed constructing a road through the plot of Vijay Kumar (a resident of Karnal Sector 7), the Minister directed that a committee—chaired by the Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation and including the Tehsildar (Sale) and Tehsildar—conduct an inquiry and submit a report. Similarly, regarding a complaint filed by Sector 9 resident Karma Singh—concerning the failure to issue a notification for the implementation of the development plan for the Sector 43 commercial area and the Sector 43A and 43B industrial zones in Karnal, as well as the construction of a double-lane road from GT Road (NH-44) to Ansal Township in Sector 43A—the Minister issued instructions to close the gate and directed that a report be submitted at the next meeting.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana stated that the government aims to listen to every complainant and resolve their issues. He noted that appropriate decisions are taken only after hearing both parties during the District Grievance Redressal Committee meetings, and the endeavor is to ensure that every individual leaves satisfied.
Responding to a statement made by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, the Minister remarked that statements in public life should always be made with restraint and patience. He added that one should avoid making personal jibes. Addressing farmers' issues, the Minister mentioned that he is a farmer himself. Praising Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s working style, he said that the Chief Minister grasps problems early and finds solutions for them. When asked about India's trade deals, the Minister said that while farmers express their views and concerns, it is also necessary to understand and properly evaluate every aspect of the matter.
On the issue of paper leaks, the Agriculture Minister described it as a very serious matter concerning the future of the youth. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the issue seriously and will work towards a permanent solution to prevent such incidents in the future. He also informed that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini would attend the 77th Van Mahotsav (Forest Festival) to be held in Karnal tomorrow. The festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A Tree in Mother's Name) campaign. On this occasion, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, and Haryana Livestock Board Chairman Advocate Ashok Sirsi were present; representing the district administration were Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saloni Sharma, along with officials from various departments and nominated members of the Grievance Redressal Committee.
