Patiala, September 5:- Basant Ritu Youth Club, Tripuri, Patiala organized its monthly eye surgery camp at Guru Teg Bahadur Eye Hospital, opposite Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib, Patiala. The camp was presided over by Santosh Kumar Lalwani, founding member of the club.
Club President Er. Aakarsh Sharma stated that the club has been selflessly serving society for the past 34 years. As part of these efforts and under the banner of 'Nar Seva Narayan Seva', the club has been consistently organizing monthly eye check-up and surgery camps at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for the past four years. In these camps, free eye check-ups are conducted every month, and needy patients receive completely free cataract surgeries with lens implants, along with free medicines and spectacles.
Club founder Rajesh Sharma Ramtatwali said that Dr. Asha Pritpal Kaur and her team continuously perform surgeries for needy patients. He added that people from outside Punjab also benefit from this monthly camp, where the club sponsors five cataract surgeries with lens implants free of cost every month.
Over the past four years, Dr. Asha Pritpal Kaur has successfully performed around 300 eye surgeries through the club. Meanwhile, Minakshi Sharma contributed financial assistance of Rs 21,000 to the club, which was utilized for the treatment of needy patients. The club expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Minakshi Sharma.
