Jalandhar, July 9:- Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab affairs in-charge and former Delhi Education Minister, Manish Sisodia, visited Nari Niketan on Thursday. Upon his arrival at the institution, he was welcomed by Nari Niketan Trust General Secretary Gurjot Kaur and Trustee Seema Chopra, who provided him with detailed information about the work being done by Nari Niketan and the children residing there. Manish Sisodia inquired about the institution's operations and highly praised the work being done.
On this occasion, he interacted with all the children. He later visited the children's home (Shishu Grih), where he saw the toddlers and held them with affection. The trustees briefed the ‘AAP’ leader on the various courses being pursued by the older children. He also met with the staff members and inquired about their work. During a yoga session focused on women's empowerment, the children showcased their talent by performing various asanas, which Sisodia appreciated.
Subsequently, he visited A.N. Gujral Senior Secondary School, where he toured the senior classes as well as the KG wing. He met the students in their classrooms and asked about their studies. He also inspected the smart classrooms and the computer lab. The students welcomed Manish Sisodia by presenting him with a planter and a handmade card, for which he encouraged and praised the students. School Principal Jyoti informed him about the modern facilities being provided to the students.
Speaking to reporters, the former Education Minister said that Nari Niketan is not only providing shelter to destitute children but also giving them more love than parents would. Seeing the happiness on the children's faces and their living standards, it does not seem like they are lacking anything. He praised the management for the excellent arrangements and the modern facilities provided to the children. Aam Aadmi Party District Urban President Amritpal Singh was also present on this occasion.
