Ratia, February 11: A subdivision-level meeting was held on Wednesday under the Anemia-Free Haryana Campaign, chaired by SDM Surendra Singh. Officials from the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, and Education Department participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the Health Department provided information on the efforts and achievements made so far at the subdivision level under the Anemia-Free Haryana Campaign.
SDM Surendra Singh directed officials to focus on preventing anemia, especially among children, adolescent girls, and pregnant women. He also directed that health check-up camps be organized in schools and Anganwadi centers, and that children suffering from anemia be provided with timely iron and folic acid tablets, nutritious food, and necessary medical care.
He directed the concerned officials to distribute iron tablets and conduct regular check-ups through schools and Anganwadi centers. The SDM also stated that iron tablets and syrup should be made available in prescribed quantities for different age groups to address anemia. Beneficiaries should also be informed about the nutrients to be included in their diet, so they can become aware of their health and develop self-care habits.
The SDM directed the Child Development Project, Medical, and Education departments to effectively implement the campaign in coordination with each other and conduct regular field monitoring. He stated that anemia hinders not only physical but also mental development, so preventing it is essential for the overall development of society.
