Hansi:- Currently, there is not a single TB patient in 11 villages of the district. Soon, these villages will be declared TB (Tuberculosis) free. The proposal for this has already been sent to the government.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal stated on Wednesday that all necessary procedures in this regard have been completed by the Health Department and the proposal has been sent to the State Government. Once approval is received at the state level, these villages will be formally declared TB-free.
SMO Dr. Rahul Budhiraja said that from 1 January to 31 December 2025, a special campaign was conducted across the district. The main objective of this campaign was to visit village by village to identify TB patients, ensure timely treatment, provide regular availability of medicines, and raise awareness among people about serious diseases like TB. During the campaign, teams of ASHA workers, ANMs, health inspectors, and doctors conducted house-to-house surveys, examined suspected patients, and prioritized treatment.
Positive results of this campaign have now emerged. The village panchayats of Dhani Piran, Dhani Thakaria, Dhani Gujran, Roshan Kheda, Dhana Khurd, Dhani Kumaran, Banda Hedi, Depal, Dadhri, and Dhani Kutubpur are now completely TB-free. There are no cases of active TB patients in these villages.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the concept of TB-free villages is not limited to the treatment of the disease only; its aim is also to increase awareness about health among villagers, promote cleanliness, nutrition, and the habit of regular check-ups. He appreciated the cooperation of the Health Department teams, village panchayats, and villagers, stating that such achievements are possible only through collective efforts.
Additionally, the district administration is further strengthening maternal health services. The Deputy Commissioner said that to provide timely and accessible ultrasound facilities to pregnant women, the Hansi office of the Health Department has also included private ultrasound centers in the panel. Any pregnant woman can get an ultrasound done on any day of the week at the panel centers.
He clarified that for this, the pregnant woman only needs to bring a doctor’s consultation slip from her nearest government health center. The Madan Ultrasound Center, Dev Ultrasound Center, and Garg Hospital Ultrasound Center have been included in the panel, where examination facilities are provided according to prescribed standards. Ultrasound facilities are also available at the Civil Hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal said that the district administration’s goal is to ensure quality health services in both rural and urban areas. In the coming time, the campaign will be conducted more effectively to make more villages TB-free, aiming to achieve the goal of making Hansi district completely TB-free.
