Addressing the gathering of forest workers, Darshan Singh Belu Majra, Lakhwinder Singh Khanpur, Jasvir Singh Khokhar and Dharam Pal Lot said that this protest is being held today in protest against non-payment of salaries to casual workers working in the department for a long time.
If the officials still do not heed the warning, then in the coming time, various organizations related to Punjab Subordinate Services Federation will participate in this protest and will continue it till each demand of the forest workers is resolved. Addressing the dharna, Bhupendra Singh Sadhuheri, Naresh Bosar, Bhinder Ghagga and Jagpal Singh Kakarala said that the government is not making the casual employees working in the department permanent, despite having work, the sword of layoff is constantly being hung over the forest department employees. Due to which there is a lot of anger and resentment among the forest employees.
Today's anger came to the fore when the enraged forest employees announced to surround the forest division office, due to which the forest department management and police administration were shocked. The forest department officials assured that the demands of the forest employees would be resolved by May 12, but the forest employees remained calm. Addressing the dharna, Tarsem Singh, Harjinder Singh, Samser Singh, Balkar Singh, Sarabjit Singh Alipur and Gurkamal Singh Patiala said that if the demands are not resolved in the meeting of May 12, then a huge protest will be organized on May 16 with the cooperation of brotherhood organizations, due to which the forest department officials will be responsible for the strike that will result.
