Harchand Singh Barsat congratulated the winning candidates of Panchayat elections

Mohali / Chandigarh, 16 October 2024: State General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab and Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, S. Harchand Singh Barsat congratulated all the candidates who won the Panchayat elections. He said that the only agenda of all Panchayats should be the all-round development of the village. While felicitating the newly elected Panchayat of village Barsat, he congratulated the newly elected Sarpanches of other villages including S. Narinder Singh Barsat who became Sarpanch and expressed hope that under their leadership the villages will develop rapidly and the policies of the Punjab Government will be taken to the people.

While felicitating the newly elected Panchayat of village Barsat, he congratulated the newly elected Sarpanches of other villages including S. Narinder Singh Barsat who became Sarpanch and expressed hope that under their leadership the villages will develop rapidly and the policies of the Punjab Government will be taken to the people.
He said that Panchayat elections are the foundation of Lokraj, which come after every five years. Through these, the people of Punjab raise their voice and use their right to elect the Panchayat. Continuous efforts have been made by the Punjab Government to conduct these Panchayat elections in a fair and peaceful manner. 
As a result of that, these elections have been held peacefully. Thanking the Election Commission and Punjab Police, he said that except for one or two incidents in the Panchayat elections, the elections have been held peacefully. He further said that the Sarpanch of the village does not belong to any party but to the entire village, who gives priority to the development of the village.
S. Barsat said that the Panchayats elected by the public should give importance to the development of villages, for which it is necessary that all rise above party politics and factionalism and contribute to the development of villages and Punjab and take the policies of the Punjab Government to the people at the grassroots level, so that the common people can get the benefits of the facilities provided by the Punjab Government and the villages can also move forward on the path of development. 
He said that the new Panchayats should keep trying to bring about great changes keeping in mind the all-round development of their villages. He appealed to all the new Panchayats to work diligently and honestly while maintaining the trust of the villagers.
