SAS Nagar, January 13 - Due to the Lohri festival in Mohali, the markets are busy and shopkeepers have decorated Lohri goods in almost all the markets of the city. Apart from this, people are selling Lohri items by setting up tents etc. on the side of the main roads.
On the occasion of Lohri festival, shopkeepers are making special preparations and have decorated peanuts, riuri, gachak, bhuga and other types of items. Along with this, vendors selling roasted grains and wood for burning dhuni in the evening are also selling these items.
Meanwhile, peanuts are being sold in different types of packaging in the market and the rates of different peanuts are also different. Like peanuts, there are many varieties of riuri and gachak and their prices also vary.
Broadly speaking, compared to last year, this time the price of iron goods has increased by 20 to 25 percent and its direct impact is on people's pockets. Meanwhile, due to inflation, common people are buying small amounts of goods as per their budget, due to which shopkeepers are also afraid of running out of goods. However, most of the shopkeepers say that they had already brought some goods, so these goods were not left.
