Garhshankar, April 15- Recently, six students from the theatrical team of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, were honored by Panjab University, Chandigarh, with the Roll of Honour and University Colour for their outstanding performance in the skit category.
Following this achievement, when the theatrical team arrived at Khalsa College Mahilpur today, they were given a grand welcome by Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh and the college staff. The students were felicitated for this remarkable achievement.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh extended his best wishes to the teachers who led the team and the student artists, stating that such achievements bring glory to the institution and contribute to the all-round development of the students’ personalities.
On this occasion, the convener of the theatrical team, Dr. J. B. Sekhon, stated that Khalsa College Mahilpur’s theatrical team has delivered excellent performances at various levels of youth and heritage festivals organized by Panjab University Chandigarh, including Zonal, Inter-Zonal, and Inter-University Youth and Heritage Festivals.
He further mentioned that due to the team’s outstanding performances at these competitive levels, six student-artists from the college’s skit team have been honored by the Youth Welfare Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh, with the Roll of Honour and University Colour. He described this recognition as the highest award in appreciation of the students’ artistic and cultural accomplishments.
After receiving the honor, the University Colour awardee students—Amritpal Singh, Sheryl, Ritika, Gagandeep Singh, Harman, and Munish Kumar—expressed their gratitude to the college administration and teachers for their support.
On this occasion, the faculty members who contributed to the preparation of the theatrical team—Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Ganesh, Prof. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Nancy, and Prof. Anuradha—also praised the students’ performances.
