SAS Nagar, December 7 - During the winter season, the residents often carry out the act of cutting the trees in front of their houses. Trees are cut down by the residents saying that because of this they do not let sunlight in their house and by doing this the green trees are destroyed.

Someone cut the thick branches of two green trees behind the sheds in front of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Market located in local phase 4. In this regard, the shopkeepers of the market said that today some persons came with axes and climbed the trees and cut down the trees. Meanwhile, when these persons were asked why they were cutting trees, they left saying that they were sent by the Municipal Corporation.

Branches of felled trees and other junk were strewn at the spot and no one was ready to talk about who had cut the trees.

On being contacted regarding this, the SE of the Municipal Corporation said that they are not aware of the cutting of trees in Phase 4 by the Corporation. He said that he will get the matter investigated and appropriate action will be taken against those who cut down the trees.
