12 lakh metric tons of paddy procured and more than 11 lakh metric tons lifted

Patiala, November 19: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, while reviewing the ongoing procurement of paddy in the mandis of the district, instructed the officials that the procurement of the commodity in the mandis is almost complete. And now the lifting work should be accelerated and the lifting work should be completed within the next two days.

Dr. Preeti Yadav said that 12 lakh 22 thousand 553 metric tons of paddy have arrived in the mandis of the district till yesterday and out of this, 12 lakh 2 thousand 459 metric tons of paddy have been purchased so far. He said that Rs. 2800 crore has been paid to the farmers for the purchased paddy and 11 lakh 65 thousand 911 metric tons of paddy have been lifted out of the purchased paddy.
The Deputy Commissioner said that out of the paddy purchased so far, 549194 metric tons have been purchased by Pangrain, 296628 metric tons by Markfed, 232319 metric tons by PUNSUP, 140067 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 3225 metric tons by FCI. While 900 metric tons of paddy have been purchased by traders so far.
